Bike Shop Advantage-- We R Green bag

The "We R Green" biodegradeable and reusable shopping bag. A bag for every IBD. A bag that is cost effective, profitable, pragmatic, and earth friendly. A bag that serves as a very visible marketing tool, a bag that is reusable, is manufactured from corn, and does not exploit petroleum for the manufacturing process. An easy way to reinforce our green image, helping our customers and the community celebrate cycling as the green alternative.

Here are 3 approaches for how to present these bags to your customers:

Approach 1: Give them away to your best customers. Possible script:

"Let me pack your purchases in one of our GREEN bags. We normally sell them

for 49 cents - 99cents each. They come to us from Norway, they are reusable, and when they wear out they are biodegradable."

Show customer both sides of the bag, "Our shop offers The Bike Shop Advantage, and among other things we support cycling safety. As you may know we teach classes, support events, and help the town/city think about how important it is to share the road.

Approach 2: Display a few bags in a very visible location near the check out. Priced at 49 -99 cents each. Possible script:

"May we pack your purchases in one of our GREEN shopping bags? They fold up to fit in your pocket , or carry in the glove compartment. You may want to proudly flaunt this bag as you help America by shopping abundantly and locally.

Approach 3: Possible script: "you've been one of our GREAT customers. We want to give you one of our new Reusable, Biodegradable GREEN shopping bags.We regularly sell them to folks for 49 - 99 cents. You will enjoy an additional incentive from Lowes Foods, Whole Foods, Albertsons, Trader Joes among others when you use this as your shopping bags. Thanks for your business, and enjoy your bag!

The BioBagŪ is a new generation of eco-plastic. Unlike plastic bags, BioBags are 100% compostable and biodegradable.



They can also be reused.



Primarily made of corn starch (made from non-GMO corn), BioBags also consist of Novamont resin and fully biodegradable polymers or polylactic acid. Production of BioBags use less energy and produce two-thirds less greenhouse gasses than the manufacture of plastic bags.



BioBags cost several times more than conventional plastic bags, but they allow us to further minimize the environmental impact of cycling.



BioBag products are certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute to meet the ASTM D6400 specification.



BioBag products meet the new California law, SB 1749, for biodegradable and compostable product claims.



BioBags are certified GMO Free.



No polyethylene is used in the production of BioBags.



BioBags are DEN certified for restricted use of metals in our soy-based inks and dyes.



BioBags are shelf stable, just like paper plates or paper towels. There are no chemical additives to enhance decomposition. The bags biodegrade naturally when exposed to the earths elements and micro-organisms in the soil.



BioBags will decompose in a controlled composting environment in 10-45 days, leaving no harmful residues behind.



BioBags will decompose in a natural setting at an extended rate comparable to other naturally biodegradable materials, such as paper, leaves and food waste.



BioBags will biodegrade in both fresh and salt water. Australian studies suggest decomposition occurs between 8-14 months.


The We R Green bag, is a 10 Gallon BioBag Shopping Bag, measuring approximately 11 1/2 X 22" when laying flat with the handles extended and the side pleat folded inside.



1.1 mil, 500 bags per case, 58 cases per pallet.



The bag is an off white opaque color with a fabric like feel. Not as thin, nor as plasticky as the typical grocery store shopping bag.







Case Dimensions 23"L x 12.5"W x 3"H, 18.17 pounds.







Minimum order is for 1 case (500 bags). Shipping will be at actual cost using the NBDA FedEx rate.



This bag is meant to re-used and as with other natural materials disposed of when weak or worn.



Some large retail grocery chains are encouraging customers to own reusable bags by offering store points, etc. Why not have your customers use "our" bag as their grocery bag? Think of the marketing exposure for cycling.



These bags can be sold, given to special customers, or used when selling a certain minimum amount of cycling product. Display them in a prominent location.... As you pack items in the bag you have an opportunity to deliver a "we are green message."
